Lots of turkeys in StClaude

We were outside planting a few trees, and I noticed there looked like a bit of a wall cloud forming. I made a time lapse video of it in case something happened and when I watched it I noticed a small funnel cloud.

I went in our garage yesterday and noticed that we have frost forming on the grade beam of our garage.
Last year we dug around the side of the garage to put a 4″ corrugated drain in and insulated that side of the garage concrete to 2 feet underground. The part in the picture is not insulated. I was surprised how much temperature difference there was between the insulated and non-insulated.
Next year I’m going to have to dig and insulated the rest before the moisture wrecks the drywall.

Now that winter has arrived with -34 Celsius temperatures it is a good time to revisit the changes made to the return air path in our basement.
The picture says it all the upstairs and basement are now the same temperature.
I will still put an extra return air vent in the basement when we build some walls, but for now all is good.
Up to now our basement was up to 6 degrees Celsius colder then the rest of the house.
It also had the supply and return air at the ceiling only and there was no air movement at the floor.
The first part of the solution was to move the return air inlet from the ceiling to the floor.

Yet another ford instrument cluster with problems. This one from a 06 super duty.

Today we went to Drumheller. After checking out the Rocky Mountains yesterday, I have to say this is better.
