Yet another ford instrument cluster with problems. This one from a 06 super duty.
This one would act up when driving over bumps. It causes all the guages to go to the bottom of their sweep, the radio to turn off, interior lights to be stuck on or off and no power windows.
This one took me a while to find. I actually had to power the cluster while out of the truck. I could get it to cut out when twisting the circuit board but could not see any breaks in the solder.
This one I found electrically with the volt meter. It was a poor connection at the resistor network that has the arrow pointing to it. After I found the break I tried to see it with a jewellers magnifying glass but could not see it.
A quick resolder with a sharp pointed iron and it’s been good for months.
